Don’t miss the famous Arthur’s Canny Museum

The Can Museum is often one of the first things visitors talk about after their visit and for good reason. This unique collection features thousands of colourful, nostalgic, and rare cans gathered from countries all around the world. As you wander through the displays, each shelf reveals something new and unexpected: classic brands from decades past, unusual international labels, and quirky limited editions you may never have seen before.

It’s the kind of place that sparks curiosity and conversation. People find themselves pointing out favourites, laughing at funny designs, and reminiscing about drinks they remember from years ago. With its mix of history, humour, and surprise, the Can Museum offers an experience that’s as memorable as it is delightfully unusual.

Meet Our Feathered Friends

Ducks, swans, peacocks, and visiting birdlife love calling the Gardens home. People especially enjoy feeding the ducks, peacocks, the fish, and even our sheep! Don’t be surprised if our feathered friends follow you around. We also have some of the oldest turtles in New Zealand.

What an unexpected bonus this was. Had to leave the Coromandel because it was so windy and decided to find things to do going west, came across these gardens and were delighted with what we found.

Debbie Owen Visitor

The entire Gardens are beautiful ranging from absolutely amazing to the wonderful little treats along the way like the signs, toilets, crocodiles and an array of peacocks and ducks. What a serene moment my Mother and I had there.

When you go in with no expectation things end up being better than you expected. There was a quiz for the children to complete so it kept three kids occupied and made the visit very enjoyable. There was lots of ducks and you can buy a bag of food for 50c. Same for sheep food.

My. Travel.Snaps Visitor

Loved the quirky signs through out the park. Enjoyed the stroll through the different sections followed by ducks looking for a feed. Buy the food when purchasing the tickets. Don’t forget to go into the museum. Amazing collection of cans.
